Darlene Elane Cossairt

Darlene grew up and attended schools in the Denver area- Jr. Smily and East High School. She graduated in 1963. After graduation she worked for Hesteds, Western Electric and Ball Aerospace. She met and married the love of her life, the late Jerry Cossairt, in high school.

Family and friends were extremely important in her life. She enjoyed vacations to Las Vegas and New Mexico. Darlene always made holidays and party’s special because of her joking, fun and happy attitude.

Darlene is survived by sister-in-law, Lark Applehans (the wife of her late brother, Wayne); nieces and nephews, Tammy, Troy, Terry, Vincent and Tracy; a few cousins; her best friend Ethel from 7th grade and special friend, Pat, along with many friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Darlene was preceded in death by her brothers, Wayne Applehans and Edward Applehans.

A Celebration of Life will take place 1pm, Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Olinger Highland Mortuary, 10201 Grant Street in Thornton, Colorado. Following the Celebration of Life, a Reception Gathering will be held at the Eagles Lodge, 8800 Federal Blvd. in Federal Heights.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Max Fund or Animal Shelter of Choice.
