

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 9, 2011 at Olinger Highland Mortuary 10201 Grant St Thornton CO 80229.
She was born November 3, 1923, in Blanchard, Iowa to Charles Wallace Steele and Mary May McKnight Steele. Her father was a farmer and her mother was a homemaker.
Rose moved to Bennett, Colorado in 1930 with her parents. She graduated from Bennett High School in 1941, where she participated in cheerleading and basketball and where she received a certificate for perfect attendance. She went to work at Buckley Airforce Base in 1942 manufacturing aircraft parts on an assembly line.
Rose married Anthony “Jerry” Petrone in 1940 and they happily shared their lives together until his passing in 1997. They had two daughters, Billie Ann and Toni Lynn.
After many years of work and retirement, Rose and Jerry couldn’t manage sit still so they worked together at Hallmark Camper in Brighton, CO and enjoyed Grange hall dances, gardening and fishing.
Mrs. Petrone is survived by her daughters, Billie Ann Phares (William), Toni Miller (Duane), Six grandchildren: Stacy Phares (Andrea), Yvette Miller Moritz (Brad), Traci Palombo Burnett (Mike), Nicole Phares Beatty (Jim), Daniele Miller Mack (Ryan), Matthew Miller (Megan), and 11 great-grandchildren: Victoria (Colby), Aaron, Adam, Rebekah, Mandi, Kelli, Jacob, Alisyn, Madilyn, Cooper and Mason.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony "Jerry" Petrone, 13 brothers and sisters.
