Elaine Irene Pollard, 85, of Erie, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Elaine was born on August 12, 1939, in Loup City, Nebraska, to Edward and Stella (Kosmicki) Sekutera. The second-oldest of five children, she grew up on the family farm in Litchfield, Nebraska, where she learned the values of hard work, faith, and kindness. She graduated from Litchfield High School in 1956 and went on to attend Kearney State College. Following her passion for education, Elaine began teaching K–12 in a rural school in Loup City, Nebraska and touched the lives of countless students in the Sherman County area.

In 1966, Elaine moved to Grand Island, Nebraska, and later married Jerry Lee Pollard on November 29, 1975.

Elaine is survived by her husband, Jerry; daughter Bernice Ginn of Parker, CO; sons Steve Pollard of Aurora, CO; Don Pollard of Omaha, NE; David Pollard of Tallahassee, FL; and Michael Pollard of Broomfield, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Thomas Pollard; brothers Alvin, Arnold, and Joseph Sekutera; and sister Maxine Sekutera.

A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., and a Memorial Mass will follow on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., both at Blessed Sacrament Church in Grand Island, Nebraska with a reception and lunch to follow Mass.
