During sugar beet harvest, Frank, Lila and Virginia B would drive the loaded trunks to the beet dump in Brighton.  One trip, the State Patrol was at the dump and approached Lila first and her taillights weren’t working, she got a ticket.  Virginia’s truck’s signal lights were not working, she got a ticket!  Now when it came to Frank’s truck (the worse of the three)  he didn’t have a current inspection sticker, so he took the one off of his son’s motorcycle.  The policeman told him to honk the horn,  Frank would tap on the horn and say “beep, beep” and the cop passed his truck!!  (It helped that the cop knew Frank)  The girls were mad and said “they quit until the trucks were brought up to regulation”!

 Frank was “practicing “ for the Adams County fair “bull riding,”  and after he finished milking a cow, he would get on her back and Mom would release the stanchion.   The  cow would back out, bucking and head for the barn door.  Frank tried to hold on and ride the 8 minutes!  The bucking cow would hit the walls of the door, widening the entrance.  When Dad found out what Frank and Mom were doing in the milk barn, he would get mad.  But the rodeo was on😃😃

Well, one day cousin Frank came home from the fair with a calf that he had shown, and he got 1st place. I met them at the end of the drive. I wanted to hold the rope. Frank told me to never let go, because this was a "prize" calf. Well after 3-4 rounds around the grainery, Frank finally caught and stopped the calf. I was dirt and gravel from head to toe, but by God I didn't let go!! Just some "cousinly" love!!


My favorite story Uncle Frank told me was when my dad and his buddies were going swimming in the pool at Lakeside. Dad was around 16 so Uncle Frank was around 6. Gramdma said TAKE YOUR BROTHER. So he did. The big guys came out of the locker room and dove into the deep end. Well so did little Frank who promptly sank to the bottom! He said the next thing he remembered was this bear paw (my dads hand) grabbing him by the back if the neck and sliding across the floor. Dad growled STAY THERE and that was the end of swimming that night for poor little Frank.

Before Frank joined the Air Force, he would ride the roller coaster,  at Lakeside or Elitches  and while going up the first hill, he would “loudly” sing.  “Off we go into the wild blue wander”   The Air Force song😃

Frank and his buddies were in the 
 “wild horse race” at the Adams County Fair,   Frank was the one who was supposed to bite the ear of the horse so his buddy could get on and ride in the race.  While Frank was “chomping on the horse’s ear, the horse raised his head and knocked Frank out!)“Next thing Frank was in the ambulance.

Frank and I baled hay together.  I drove the tractor pulling the baler and Frank was on the sled, stacking bales.  All went well until Frank would see a dead snake 🐍 in the field, would get off the sled, pick up the snake and throw it at me on the tractor!  I would stop the tractor and threatened to quit and tell Dad on him!  He would just stand on the sled and laugh!!

When Frank was in high school, he and his buddies (Bill Chambers, and others) took Julius Chambers, younger brother of Bills  to the Cemetery at night.  One of Frank’s friends knew where a fresh grave was, so all the guys went running across the grass and they all avoided the grave, however Julius ran right over the fresh sod, sank in, and with wide open eyes hollared,  “Lordy, Lordy, the devil’s got me”.    Course the other guys just stood around and laughed 

Grandpa was always making jokes and ensuring everyone was having a good time ❤️

Sending our sincere condolences, prayers and love to all of Frank’s family! We loved Frank dearly and remember our kids (Tim and Jenni) always wanting to visit the “Brozovish” grandparents.
