Frank Loose came to Denver looking for work when he was 21 yrs old. He lived
with his uncle Lester and aunt Agnes Frost. He applied for a job as a water boy
with the Denver Parks Department and was hired as a mower instead. Through the
years he advanced to Foreman and later to Supervisor of District 1. After 36 years
of service he took early Retirement in 1992.
During those years, he met and married a young widow, Ophelia, with two small
children. They have been married 59 years. They spent a lot of happy times fishing
in the mountains of Colorado. After his heart surgeries in 2009, he and his son,
Alan Boyce still went fishing in Colorado and Nebraska. His son Alan passed away in 2013.
Due to Frank's health issues, his daughter, Marlena Boyce moved from her home in Buena Vista to help take care of her parents.
Frank has struggled through surgeries, aneurysms, strokes and Parkinson's. He died peacefully at home on October 2, 2020, he was 86 years old and loved by all family and friends.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife Ophelia; his daughter, Marlena, his grandson, Robert Boyce; daughter-in-Law, Georgie Boyce; grand daughter-in-law, Lori Lombardi; great grandson, Corbin Boyce; great granddaughter, Brooke Boyce; nephews, Robert and Douglas Benway; niece, Kristen Cone and Sister, Vickie Huggett of Bertrand, NE.
Frank will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by Son, Alan Boyce and grandson, Thomas Boyce.
