He loved his family and wanted them to have more advantages than he had. He worked a variety of jobs, including positions at Rose Medical Center.
Gary was a hard-working man with a great sense of humor.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survived by his wife, Diana; daughters, Kari, Tammi and Holly; grandchildren, Vance, Justin, Michelle, Vincent, Zachariah, Kristen, Matthew, Xavier, and Mia; great-grandchildren, Marley and Sophie; siblings, Joyce, Anna, Pam and Myrna.
Gary was preceded in death by John Schakel, Mary Schakel, Richard Schakel, Thomas Roff, Jerry Shelton, Steve Shelton and Edie Bailiff.
