Gavin went to Laradon Hall at the age of 15 where he got his education. Laradon also helped him get a job at Safeway where he worked as a Courtesy Clerk for 27 years. This was an excellent career choice for Gavin as he greeted everyone with a smile and never met a stranger.
For the past 26+ years Gavin lived with his second family and best friends. Gavin loved spending time with his family and friends, going to the movies, and was passionate about music.
Gavin’s gift to all of us was his ability to smile and never complain no matter what was happening in his life. He will be remembered for his great smile, his sense of humor, his Gavin-isms - “You’re the worst!”; “You’re an angel.”; “You’re trouble.”- and the joy he brought to all.
Gavin is survived by his mother Shirley Warby, his sister Laura Akahoshi (Kit), his nieces Rebecca Silver-van den Essenberg (Maartje) and Jessica Shockey (Adam), his nephew Zachary Silver (Lindsey), his great nephews Landon, Cameron, and Jordan, his great nieces Olivia and Natalie, two aunts Maurie White (Roger) and Karen Pilley (Steve), and a large extended family. He is also survived by his second family Tom Rodriquez (Dad), Bobby Hiem (Best Buddy & Brother), Mario and Anthony (brothers), the whole Rodriquez family that stepped in to help give Gavin the best life possible, and a multitude of friends whom he loved.
