

Born Feb. 5th, 1932, to parents Burris and Isabel Tarver, in Panuco, Vera Cruz Mexico. He had (1) sister, Rose Ella Tarver - Trevino of Laredo Texas. The presiding doctor was amazingly, Dr. Francisco J. Colorado.
George was raised in Mexico, Laredo, and Cotulla Texas, he graduated high school from American University in Mexico City, were he excelled in football and academics. An outdoorsman, hunter, and cowboy he ranched, traveled throughout Mexico and Texas, traveling as far as the Panama Canal with his cousin Freddie in a jeep as a teenager.
A Cold War veteran, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, 1950-53, and was a B-36 gunner and turret mechanic, his duty stations included Fairchild AFB WA, Barksdale AFB LA, Nouasseur Air Base near Casablanca, Morocco - French North Africa, then his final duty station – Lowrey AFB Denver CO.
During his time at Lowrey – he volunteered as an actor/Roman Soldier for the “Passion Play” in Denver, where he met his wife, Elaine Leddy (who played a role amongst the villagers) and a lifetime love story began.
George and Elaine married in Denver April 29, 1953, and raised 3 sons, Michael, Thomas and Patrick in Denver and newly founded Thornton CO. He was a 1962 member and a founder of the Thornton Junior Football League, to which he was a director, president and coached for over (3) decades, as well as the beginnings of the Thornton baseball leagues. The TJFL still exists to this day.
George impacted the lives of many young boys with Elaine and were involved in many events and associations in Thornton, and their home was always open with multitudes of kids flowing in and out as though it were their home in times of need.
George was employed for 47 years and CU Medical Center in Denver – Dept of Physiology, amongst the longest serving people in the university system.
This amazing man is survived by his sister-in-law Patricia Leddy Pfeifer, sons Michael Tarver (Lorraine), Thomas Tarver (Jill) and Patrick Tarver (Jeanine Fulton Piazza). Grand Children - David (Crystal), Tyler, Lacie (Michael). Alexandria (Cody), Brock (Hannah), Andria (Jared), Blake (Sophia), Desire, Shontel. Great Grand Children – Leo, Eliana, Brooks, Kallen, Rowan, Diego, Kaia, Indi, Stella, Brooks, Briggs, Eva Elaine, Wesley, Payton and Brody, and his nephews Rick Pfeifer (Gina), Randy Pfeifer, David Pfeifer (Jess), nieces and nephews of the Trevino family, Pepe, Beto, Diana, Anna, Memo, and Kiko, Laredo Texas, and multitudes of extended in-laws, great nieces and nephews in the Denver area.
