James was born the third and final child to Douglas Brown and Juanita (Bobinski) Brown in Denver, Colorado on June 17, 1971.
He will be greatly missed by the love of his life Heather Pojar Thompson (Northglenn, CO). James and Heather spent his final years traveling and enjoying life. James loved working with his hands and he owned his own Handyman Business for 20+ years where he made many lifelong friends.
Jim had a real zest for life. An almost unquenchable thirst for life on the wild side. Even from his early days as a youngster, he would take any challenge head on and usually come out the champion. In elementary school, he would beat up children that were much older and larger than he: scraping it out til the bitter end and usually coming out the victor. The old saying " No worse an enemy, no better a friend" is the motto Jim lived his life by. His thunderous laugh would disarm you, his quick wit and charm would subdue you while his subdued giggle and smurky grin would let you know that he was truly in his element, his mind cleverly developing the next punchline or scheme. Jim always had a comeback for everything. His lightning fast smart-allic demeanor and razor sharp tongue made him the life of any party, whether it be a large gathering or dinner with family and friends. James loved his family and would do anything for them if they asked. He was a great friend, always helping out where he could. He is going to be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Jim, like his father, loved old cars. He and Heather spent many a weekends at car shows in and around the Denver area searching for his true childhood dream car: a 1968 Chevy Camaro. After many years of exhaustive searching, Jim finally settled for the fact that his dream would never become a reality and found a 1969 Camaro in its stead. He spent many year during his childhood alongside his father, Doug, at numerous car show and Swap Meets, scoping out abandoned cars in open fields all the while searching for the perfect parts to help rebuild Doug's 1958 Ford Retractable. This is where Jim learned and honed his ability to negotiate, barter and trade. He would spend countless hours on most summer weekends shuttling parts for a fee from one car enthusiast to another in his home made buggy; constantly searching for that elusive piece at a very reasonable price that would help complete the car he and his dad were working on. Jim was a master with his hands. Given an engine, he could break it down, diagnose the problem and rebuild it without a single look at any manual. He spent several years at a local rental shop called Area Rentals as a small engine repair specialist working on everything from weed eaters to lawn mowers, from leaf blowers to snow blower and everything in between. From engine work to body work, Jim did it all. "Engine" was Jim's second language and he spoke it fluently.
James is survived by his mother Juanita Rose (Bobinski) Brown (Adams County, CO); ); daughter Tiffany Smith; brother Robert/Valerie Brown and nephew Christopher (Aurora, CO); sister Dawn Lee/Timothy Poepping and nephew Gregory/Elizabeth and son’s Joseph, Blake and Eric (Cheyenne, WY); nephew Matthew and son Michael (Cheyenne, WY); the love of his life, Heather Pojar Thompson (Northglenn, CO); bonus daughter Elizabeth Thompson (Durham, NC), and bonus son Daniel Eatchel.
He is preceded in death by his father Douglas Paul Brown.
