Janet "Jan" Connors passed away on August 4th at the age of 95 in Northglenn, CO. Born November 15, 1929, she was named after her mother who died shortly after birth. She was raised in New Jersey by her loving father in a house a short walk from the beach. This fostered her life-long love for the ocean. A resilient woman, she raised her five children by herself after being abandoned by her husband.
She was a loving mother and grandmother, always spoiling her grandchildren with sweets, plushies, and toys. She made friends everywhere she went, was active in the Red Hat Society, participated in parades, volunteered in her community, worked as a radiologist, a nurse, and for the National Parks and Salvation Army. Her generosity was so great she would give you the shirt off her back without a second thought.
She is survived by her five children: Joanne, Janette, Michael, Jeanne, and Jacqueline; 13 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
No services are planned; she requested "nobody make a big fuss" when she is gone. In lieu of services and flowers, please donate to the National Parks or your local animal shelter. And of course, her best advice was, "eat desert first so you're sure to have room." So, please enjoy something sweet in her honor.
