Janice Yvonne Carlson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, to Ulric and Lela Keldsen during the Great Depression.
After earning an Associate of Arts degree from Colorado Women’s College, Janice returned to Cheyenne, where she served as secretary to the president of the Stock Growers Bank for several years. It was during this time, at a holiday party, that she met the love of her life, Chuck Carlson. They married the following fall and this past September celebrated their remarkable 71st wedding anniversary.
Janice and Chuck made their home in Northglenn, Colorado, where they raised their two daughters, Connie and Linda. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi and the Northglenn Garden Club and generously volunteered her time with the Adams County Historical Society and Museum, as well as Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church. Together, she and Chuck shared a mutual interest as proud members of the Rocky Mountain Oldsmobile Club.
A talented and versatile artist, Janice worked in many mediums, including china painting, drawing, and flower arranging. She also found joy in golfing, cooking, and baking, sharing her creativity and warmth with all who knew her.
Janice is survived by her devoted husband, Charles Carlson; her daughter Linda and son-in-law Larry Rein; and her son-in-law Kirk Jungbluth. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Ashley (Daniel) Lester, Alena (Dillon) Starrett, and Ryan (Angela) Jungbluth, as well as her nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Connie Jungbluth, and her grandson Tyler Jungbluth.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Janice’s life on November 8, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery in Thornton, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (www.komen.org/).
