

Jerome Anthony Aregi, Jr. passed away in Northglenn, Colorado on February 22, 2024, at the age of 87. Jerome was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on March 18, 1936, to Jerome Anthony and Alice Mary Aregi as an only child. Jerome spent his younger years in Wisconsin before moving, first to Texas and then eventually to Colorado with his mom and dad. Once they moved to Colorado, Jerome proudly attended The Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind (“CSDB”) where he was a loyal Bulldog. He loved being part of the Bulldog sports teams playing football, baseball, and basketball. After graduating from CSDB, Jerome started a career of over 50 years in the printing industry, working first with Citron Printing and then Frederick Printing where he eventually retired. Jerome was a member of the Silent Athletic Club of Denver (“SAC”), now known as Denver Metro Association of the Deaf from 1956 until his death. As an avid SAC member, Jerome was involved with many aspects of “The Club” including president, treasurer, secretary, athletics coach among other roles. Jerome was a sweet, gregarious, vibrant, loving man who loved nothing more than his family, The Denver Broncos, his pets and a good joke. In his love for sports, Jerome also bowled, winning many awards including the National Deaf Bowling Association Championship twice in his bowling endeavors. His other loves included camping with Good Sam and spending time with his family, traveling both in the US and across the globe.
Jerome is survived by the person he loved most in this world, his wife Joyce Charlene (Craig), his daughter Roberta Alice Cox (Randy), Betha Viola Schmitz (Robert), Merri Charlene Oppedal (Paul) and Ted Aregi. He is also survived by his grandchildren Crystal Arianna Aregi, Joseph Lyle Anthony Schmitz, Alivia Joyce Cox, great-grandchildren Tavin Michael Montgomery and Lilianni Eudora Green and beloved pets Ritz (puppy), Tri and Kimber (kitties). He was predeceased by his mother Alice Mary and father Jerome Sr., aunt Viola and uncle Robert Rowe.
A Celebration of Life was held at “The Club” on February 27th and a private interment will be held in the future.
