On November 16, 1989, Jon Uriah Esquibel was born to Jon Staley and Tanette Esquibel in Denver, Colorado. Growing up in Thornton, Colorado, Jon is the oldest grandchild of Sonny and Rose Esquibel. Being the oldest, Jon kept his cousins and siblings in line by teasing and joking. Growing up, Jon was a member of Royal Rangers. Jon loved anything in life that gave him a thrill. In 2000, Jon graduated from Global Leadership Academy. In 2009, Jon married his high school sweetheart Sandra Coilmore. Jon will always be remembered for his five greatest accomplishments, his children: Aiden, Marques, Jayde, Frankie and Giovanni.
Jon was jack of all trades. He worked for Aramark, Denver Health,and Geman Specialty Foods. There, he met friends like Josephine Avila, Jovan Joseph, and Gary Harward. Jon was a big brother to all. Clowning and teasing was second nature for him. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his family, barbequing and making smores with his children. Everyone he met loved his playful, quirky personality.
Jon leaves behind his mother Tanette (Amber Jones-Esquibel) Esquibel of Lake Andes, SD, his father Jon (Rita) Staley of Commerce City, CO, his wife Sandra Esquibel and his children Marques Gilmore, Aiden Serna, Jayde Esquibel, Giovanni Gilmore, and Frankie Gilmore, his grandmothers Rose Esquibel, and Pimpa Mills, his two sisters and six brothers: Jovan, Jeremiah, JJ, Jason, Jacob, Jonezy, Jordan, and Reina. He also leaves behind numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his great-great-grandparents Hureclano and Abelina Muniz, his great-grandparents Luke and Bernie Arguello, and George and Rose Esquibel or Utah, Grandpa "Sonny" George Esquibel, uncle Hank Arguello, and cousin Eric Espinoza.
Services will be held Friday, June 18, 2021 at Olinger Highland Mortuary at 10201 Grant Street, Thornton, CO 80029. A viewing will take place from 12:00PM, followed by a service from 3:00PM-4:00PM. Burial will be held Monday, June 21, 2021 at 11:00AM at Olinger Highland Cemetery.
