Lois Brough, 85, passed into the arms of her Savior on February 17, 2022, following a short and
difficult battle with cancer. Lois was born March 14, 1936, in Denver, CO, to George and Mary
Reichert. She grew up in the Derby area and graduated from Adams City High School. She then
attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL,
Lois married her “Sweetheart”, Dick Brough, on Valentine’s Day 1958. Together they enjoyed
sixty-four wonderful years side by side, hand in hand.
In addition to homemaker, Lois had many other roles through the years as well. These included
being a checker at Busleys Grocery in Commerce City (which is where she and Dick met),
teaching Kindergarten at Adams City Christian School, working along side Dick in building and
operating four different trash companies, and running her own Avon business for over 40 years.
Lois thoroughly enjoyed teaching Sunday School classes; planning parties, celebrations, and
Church functions; quilting and crafting with numerous girlfriends, bowling leagues, camping,
and planning what trip to take next (she LOVED to travel!). However, the roles and related
activities most precious to her were those of Wife, Mom, Oma, Great-Oma, Sister, Aunt, and
Friend. She loved people and poured so much of herself into each and every relationship. She
was never too busy to pull together a meal, set aside chores to play a game, or embark on an
adventure when folks dropped in. The gifts of generosity and hospitality were at the very core
of her being. She filled countless lives with memories of time well spent; all of which will be
forever cherished.
Lois is survived by her Husband, Dick; Children: Tim & Lisa Brough and Kathy & Luis Gedo;
Grandchildren: Craig Brough & Paige Schultz, Luke & Erica Brough, and Kaylyn & Tim
Charlesworth; Great-grands: Levi, Emma, and Brooke; plus three dear Sisters-in-law, several
Cousins, and numerous Nieces and Nephews. She is now reunited with her parents, all four of
her siblings, her two precious infants, plus a host of other loved ones who have gone before.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 12th at 1:00pm at the Alli Event Center, 100 S
3rd Ave., Brighton, CO. Interment will occur at a later date.
Lois’ utmost desire has always been to show and share the love of Christ Jesus to others. In lieu
of flowers, donations in her name can be made to Baptist Mid Missions, for missionary Graham
Foran, serving in Brazil. To donate, please visit bmm.org/give; under support a project or
