

Kenneth John Freiberg, husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025, in Ft. Collins, Colorado. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Frank Freiberg and Eleanor Dillman. Preceded in death by brother, Dennis Freiberg and survived by brother, Ronald Freiberg.
Kenneth grew up and attended schools in the Milwaukee area before he joined the Army Air Corp at age 17.
Kenneth had an illustrious career starting the Thornton Fire Department in 1954, working fifty years at Rocky Flats, while simultaneously serving his country for thirty-three years in the Colorado Air National Guard.
Family and friends were extremely important in his life. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, and traveling all over the world to all seven continents.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Sue Freiberg, children Kim Gronlie, Clayton Sword, Kris Freiberg, Kevin Freiberg and Toni Cox as well as many wonderful grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by daughter Mary Cox.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at Olinger-Highland Mortuary on 10201 Grant Street, Thornton, CO 80229.
Funeral services will start Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 11:00am at Olinger-Highland Mortuary on 10201 Grant Street, Thornton, CO 80229.
Burial services will start Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 10:30am at Ft. Logan National Cemetery on 4400 W. Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236.
