LeaRaye Huff (Collinson) was born September 9, 1946, in Denver, Colorado. She passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, in Denver, Colorado at the age of 78, surrounded by her loved ones. LeaRaye was born and raised in Colorado, graduating from Ranum High School. She married and had 3 daughters. She put herself through nursing school and became a RN and eventually earned her bachelor’s degree. Most of her career was in labor and delivery including teaching new nurses and was nominated for the prestigious Nightingale Award. She loved to travel and went on several vacations with her best memory meeting Martin Sheen but breaking her ankle in the process. If you knew LeaRaye, you would know that she had many aspects to her personality like a sassy side and was very smart and a great speller (without spellcheck) She was loving, loyal, sensitive, and fiercely protected and cherished her family. She enjoyed several things such as cats, fairies, Tinker Bell, flowers and shiny crystals. She loved her faith and participated in several Bible study groups.
LeaRaye is survived by her daughter Jessica (Tony) Jenks. Grandchildren; Austin Morgan, Miranda (Chris) Haynes, Brittney (Zach) Hardman, Nalysie Haga, and Jason Waring. Sisters; Jannesa (Dave) Gillespie and Nolie Espinoza. Son-in-law; Rio Haga as well as all her many nieces and nephews and other family members (far too many to list). She was predeceased by her husband Clifford Huff, parents Richard and LaVonia Collinson, brother Steven Richard aka Dickie, stepfather Jack Watkins, daughters; Becki Waring and Laura Haga, son-in-law Rocky, and brother-in-law Jim Espinoza.
Services for LeaRaye will be held at Olinger Highland Mortuary located at 10201 Grant St. Thornton, CO 80229. Viewing from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. and service at 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. with a graveside service from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. There will be no reception
