Leroy Gonzales is my dad. Growing up he was the kind of dad that was active and valued quality time. He was the kind of dad that didn’t just take me to the pool to watch me swim, but the kind of dad that got in the pool and played with me. We would even have under water tea parties. 
My dad loved the mountains and attending different events. He was always taking me places and introducing me to new things. So, whether it was taking me fishing, to a car show, a festival, a parade, or to my first Rockies game, we were always making memories. 
My dad loved the Denver Broncos. When I was little, I told him the Dallas Cowboys were my team just to irritate him. He’d always tease me and say things like, “Your Cowgirls lost”. 
My dad would do things like helping me with maintenance on my car or cooking. He always had a way of taking regular tasks and turning them into quality time. 
I know my dad loved me, as I love him. I always believed that a day would come where we’d heal. I believed we had plenty of time for him to get to know his granddaughter, Kassidy. However, God had a different plan, and called him home too soon. My heart is broken. 
Kassidy said something to me that has given me comfort. She said to me that she does know her Grandpa Leroy, through the stories we’ve shared. She is right. He is apart of me and always has been and always will be. Like my dad, I too am always taking my daughter to the mountains, events, and creating memories. And just like my dad did for me, I too took Kassidy to her first Rockies game. Kassidy also reminded me that we too have had under water tea parties, just like me and my dad. I know my dad loved us both. I will forever miss him, and life will never be the same. However, I will continue to seek comfort in knowing that my dad is within us and lives on through me and his granddaughter.
 I love you dad.

 Live each moment with your family and friends With love in your heart  as no one ever knows what tomorrow brings. Keep your head up and live each day As it was your last.  To my sister Priscilla, I know your heart hurts but  but you’re an amazing daughter and even more amazing mother  and I was blessed to have you as my sister .  Let me know if there’s anything I can do for you and your family.

Deepest sympathies to the Gonzales family, I know there are no words to ease the pain of losing a loved one. just know that you have family and friends around you who love you and who will always be there for you. Leroy will live on through the hearts of his mom, dad, daughter, sisters Brothers, grand daughter and Friends. Memories are forever. Rest in peace Leroy
