Linda was born on December 21st, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio to Earnest Coleman Evans and Florance Elizabeth Heinbuecher. At the age of 5, Linda and her family moved to Colorado. In 1972 she attended Colorado College and then transferred to the University of Colorado where she studied business, dance and music. At CU, she met Daniel Ely, her soon to be husband of 47 years. Together, they raised two children, Michael and Angela.
Linda was a talented pianist and singer, and her interest in music took her as far as Zimbabwe, where she studied and performed African style music. She passed on her love of music to her children and husband, and as a family, they performed in several marimba and African music ensembles. Linda enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, travel, doll collection and photography, music, sewing and knitting. Linda will be remembered by her loved ones as confident, optimistic, extremely creative, social, supportive, caring and empathetic.
Linda’s family will announce a gathering to celebrate her life in the coming months.
