

Lucille was born Lucille Alice Sauerwein, in Crookston Nebraska 8/13/1926 to Margret Reagle and Emil Sauerwein. Her mother died November 28, 1928. Emil left the area to look for work in South Dakota, leaving Lucille to be raised by Margret's brother and wife, Milton and Mary Reagle. She grew up on the family farm in South Dakota 20 miles north of Valentine Nebraska. She attended school in a one room school house three miles from the farm. Later she attended school in Littleburg with her younger sister June. She graduated from St. Mary's High school in O'Neill, Nebraska in 1944. She attended Rock school and was an assistant teacher for 1 year.
She moved to Denver in 1946, went to work for the phone company. She married Alfred F. Ebert Jan 1, 1947 and they became active members of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Denver. They had three son’s the eldest whom she survived, Harold Alfred Ebert 04/16/1949 - 03/28/2016, and Calvin Eugene Ebert and Kenneth Edward Ebert. They lived in Denver until they moved to Broomfield Heights in July 1956, where Alfred was a new home salesman for K.C. Ensor, the Builder for the New suburban community. Lucille worked as an Inventory Controller / Purchasing agent for several commercial Industrial company's M.L. Foss company, Worthington Pump Corp., American steel and Iron works. She was an immediate and energetic volunteer in the community.
She was a charter member of the Broomfield Lioness service club and the family was a founding member of the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. She retired after her husband Alfred Died, Jan 10, 1988. She continued in volunteer work with church and Lions clubs and enjoyed dancing with her girl friends. Which is where she met Winston 'Royce' Whitworth, whom she married Jan 5, 1991. They moved to Aurora, Colorado and lived in Heather Gardens, where together they continued volunteer work. As a couple they were very active with the Aurora Lions Club, Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, Visiting Nurses Association and numerous others.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 3 sisters and husband Alfred and son Harold. Lucille is survived by her husband Winston Royce Whitworth, sister June Schmidt of South Dakota, sister in law Margret Ebert Everett Wash., daughter-in-law Virginia Ebert, grandchildren Lori Ebert of Phoenix; Brian Ebert, wife Laura and great grandchildren Siera, Priscilla of Reno, NV. Son Calvin and grandchildren Gabrielle, Andrew, and Bernadette, husband Matt and great grand children Chase, Cooper. As well as son Kenneth of Broomfield, CO. and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
