Margaret was born in Uppingham, England to Norah and Wallace Southwell, and grew up in nearby Stamford. Margaret was the second of five children; older brother Fred, younger sister Mary, and younger brothers Philip (Edward), and David. During World War II, Margaret worked in a weapons factory while her father manned the anti-aircraft guns in London. At a dance in Stamford, Margaret met Robert Davis, a member of the Army Air Corps from Glenwood Springs, Colorado. They fell in love and she became one of many English war brides when they married a short time later. Margaret left England to live with her new husband's family in Colorado.
Shortly after the war, the newlyweds, moved to Provo, Utah, where Robert was transferred with the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad. Their first son, Robert Floyd, was born in March 1947. They later welcomed two more sons, Richard and Ronald. In connection with Robert's job, they moved numerous times between Utah and Colorado before settling in Westminster, Colorado.
Margaret enjoyed her work as a teacher's aide and loved being a member of the Social Order of the Beauceant (of which she was president in 1994), Daughers of the British Empire, the Red Hat Ladies, and especially Martha Patrol at St. Martha's Episcopall Church. She was known for her devotion to her family, fantastic sense of humor, and positive attitude.
She has been reunited with her beloved husband, Bob, and brothers Fred and Philip (Edward), and is survived by sons Robert (LuAnn), Richard, and Ronald, grandchildren Sharon Wroble (Steve), Sheila Santagata (John), Lauren Michelle Stadler (Chris), and Rob (Lauren), and nine great-grandchildren. Margaret will be greatly missed, but will live on in the warm memories of those who had the pleasure to know her.
