I remember as a little boy, thinking of the day that I would have to say goodbye to my parents.  As well as, one day that I’d be standing here in front of all of our friends and family to give a eulogy. Where would I begin? How could I find the words without losing it? I could tell you, right now that this isn’t easy and is probably one of the most difficult periods that I have ever experienced in my life. 
My wife Jennifer brought to my attention that my Mom is undeniably the meaning of the “the fruit of the Spirit”. You know what? I agree with her. Galatians 5: 22-23 states: 22”But the fruit of the pirit is love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control.  Against such things there is no law.” I look at that verse and I can pick out a couple that I may possess. Out of all of these character qualities, I might have some of these traits, but the majority of them I’d say needs some work. I honestly can say that this verse fits my Mom, because she really did have these qualities. My Mom had the natural ability to show love and kindness to everyone. Even in the hospital, when she was feeling at her worst she was so polite and thanked every hospital staff member with a smile. My brother and I grew up with the deepest love and affection that anyone could ask for. She loved being surrounded by family and spending time with others and was always sure to keep in-touch with everyone. When my parents were spending time with their best of family and friends, especially Art and Isabell Cordova, my Mom always made me laugh. When they were together, Isabell and my Mom would have the best time! They would be talking about something that would turn out to be hilariously funny and it wasn’t supposed to be funny in the first place. The other day I told their daughter Bianca Cordova that our Moms’ are probably celebrating in heaven together right now doing the same thing! 


My Mom cherished her grandkids and often had them over for sleepovers and dinner. No one
including our kids ever left our Mom’s house with an empty stomach! I have my kids to thank
for some silly snapchat videos of my mom making her laugh. Not only will we miss her love,
but also her beauty, contagious smile and heartwarming laugh. Our family is at peace knowing
my mom is in heaven with the Lord, her family and friends. Although she did not want to
leave us so soon, we know she is rejoicing, healed and always with us. I can honestly say that
we are the luckiest family around and her legacy will live on! 
As we move onto a new chapter in our lives, it will be a challenge to not have her with us,
hearing her laugh, feeling her heartwarming love and the gentleness that reached out to so
many. I just want to say to my Dad that we love you and we are all here for you! We have
many more years to spend together and many more memories to make. Mom loved you and
we will see her again someday. 
I would like to share with you a tad bit of memories and what I will miss most about my Mom:
Her natural ability to love, her kindness, her wanting to be around friends and family, her hospitality, her patience, her love for God, her strength, her majestic beauty, her innocence, Chubby Checker and the Twist, dancing with her, her soft skin, her lipstick left on my cheek, her phone calls, her singing Happy Birthday to me on a phone message, her shake it but don’t break it walk, her chilaquiles, her homemade tortillas, her biscochitos, her smile, and her heartwarming laughter. I will miss you so much! I love you Mom! 
My family and I would like to thank everyone for the love and support that you all have shown us. For all the wonderful meals made, flowers, notes, calls and most of all for being here with us today.  Thank You!



Today is Mariannes birthday September 12th . I will remember so many memories to many to mention.   I NO she is in heaven with all the people she loves.  She was one of the most generous and loving  person I new.  She will be greatly missed by all that loves her.  RIP Marianne !



Dear Nana,

I wish I never had to watch you go through what you have been. Cancer is not something anyone wants but unfortunately you have it. Before you leave this earth like everyone will one day I want you too know how much I love you. You have taught me so much. You tried to teach me how to be a gentleman even though I wasn’t the best at following your directions. You were the best role model for me my sisters and my dad. Your are one of the kindest people I know unless you tell grandpa to jump into a lake! I loved staying the night at your house even though it was hard for you too tolerate all of us. I am so happy to have shared part of your life with us. You have made a bigger impact then you could have ever thought imaginable. You fought cancer to the end and we are proud to call you our nana. You have sacrificed your well being so we could see you for the past few years  and we will forever be greatful. You have showed us your loving heart and couldn’t have asked for a better nana. I love you to the moon and back and I want to thank you for your love you gave us. I love you nana.

To the hostess with the mostest. Aunt Marianne and Uncle Gene always invited us to wonderful dinners. She and Uncle made us rice balls once - they were special and so delicious.  They worked so hard.Thank you for that.  Once she  asked me what I'd like to have.  And I said  "how  about Mexican hamburgers."  And she said, "What's that?" NO one ever heard of that, and we laughed and laughed and laughed. I will miss you so much, Auntie., Love,  Michelle

Nana, it was hard to see what you had to go through. It’s something I would never wish on anyone. You fought a long and hard battle with cancer and I wish it was a battle you never had to face. I hope you know how much I love you. I couldn’t have asked for anyone else to be my Nana. You were one of the most amazing, loving and kind hearted people I know. I miss hearing you laugh and seeing your smile, listening to Volver Volver in the kitchen while Cayden attempted to sing along, your warm hugs when I walked in the door, you asking me to do your makeup so your eyelashes would look as long as mine and telling us to put our socks on so we wouldn’t catch a cold. I have so many more memories with you that I will never forget. Now that you are gone it always feels like we are missing a voice in the room at your house. I keep thinking that at any minute you’re going to come out of your room from brushing your teeth or putting on makeup because you always want to make sure you looked presentable. I don’t think that feeling will ever go away and I wish I didn’t have to live a life without you. But even though I miss you and wish you were here I take comfort in knowing that all your pain and suffering is gone, that you are reunited with your family and best friend in heaven and also knowing that one day I will see you again. Thank you for everything that you taught me and for all the love you gave me, I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I love and miss you so much Nana ♥️

We had the pleasure of knowing Marianne for several years and got a glimpse of what a wonderful person she was through the eyes of her children and grandchildren.  When we would attend family events at Josh and Jenn’s house her smile and kindness would light up the room and Marianne always welcomed us with her gentle spirit.   It was so apparent how much she loved her family and we know she left a legacy of love, faith and kindness that we will all remember.

My memories of Aunt Marianne include her infectious smile, her kind eyes, and her love for her family.  Aunt was beautiful inside and out and welcomed our family whenever we visited.  I remember her always saying "Ronnnnie" and giving me her warm and friendly smile.  I will miss you Aunt Marianne.  Please say hi to my mom and dad for me.

One of the things I loved most about my Nana is that she fought and fought till she couldn't anymore, she pushed to her hardest she never gave up. What I loved most about her was that she wasn't afraid to be herself, she loved going to church and being with her loved ones.  My Nana taught me to be a lady. Aunt Marianne was a beautiful woman, full of grace.  She was always welcoming to our family and made us feel right at home.  I loved to hear her voice and listen to her stories.  You could tell how much she loved her husband and her boys just by looking in her eyes.  She will be greatly missed by everyone.

Marianne was a wonderful person. I am the mother in law. I love Josh like my own son. When he started dating Jennifer, I was amazed at his manners. He was always a gentleman. Marianne taught him well. He gave me five of the greatest grandkids. I will miss Marianne. She and I would talk at family get together,s I am so fortunate to have had her in our life.

Marianne was my mother in law.  I met Marianne when I had just turned 16 and Josh and I started dating.  Some of my first memories are of her are her cooking all the time for Josh, Geno, Gene and Grandpa Mike.  I also remember being surprised that she drove a full size school bus for district 50, and later found out at a family event that she drove my niece and nephew to school.  Much of her time was spent being selfless, cooking, cleaning and taking care of her family.  From the day I met her she welcomed me into the family with open arms.  

Over the years I remember getting together for family events, often with with Aunt Eloise and her best friend Isabelle or my family.  Marianne would always be sure to have on something sparkly, lipstick, heeled shoes and was very particular about her hair.  She was always smiling, laughing and saying something silly as she entered the room with some yummy dish of chilaquiles, pasta salad, vermicelli or rice and shrimp.  

When we started our family Marianne was there for all four of our children’s births.  She dearly loved her "babies" and over the years has enjoyed having them over and cooking anything and everything for them.  Our children loved their Nana and will miss the many wonderful gifts she blessed us with in her presence.  I will be forever thankful for Marianne, for the son she bore who is now my husband and father of my children, for the gentleness and the physical beauty she passed on to all my children as well as the the love she shared with us all.  

Although we will be sad here on earth without her physical presence, I have no doubt that she is in Heaven with our Father.  She is no longer suffering but is rejoicing with her mother, father, sister, best friend and many others.  Goodbye for now Marianne, watch over our family, be our angel and we will see you again someday.

To my Aunt Marianne. I remember when I was a little girl you were so beautiful and elegant.  When I saw you last, you are still the beautiful elegant woman I remember so many years ago . Throughout the years your beautiful smile graced my family celebrations. My children were so blessed to have known their great aunt.  My heart is heavy and we will miss you, it will never be the same without you here. To your family and my uncle, I love you guys you are in my prayers. So many cherished memories I don’t know where to begin. Auntie Marianne was the epitome of love and happiness. I remember from early years watching Geno and Josh with my sister, and playing her favorite 45 records and sharing a treat every time. Watching Auntie dancing at every shindig my parents had. Auntie would share her ‘beauty secrets’ like chin exercises and always walking on her tippy toes! So precious when Auntie would take our her apple slicer and serve with a special glass of wine. My daddy would tease her with a bologna sandwich as she would ask him, are you going to eat that, don’t eat that it’s bad for you! I love when Uncle Gene and Auntie Marianne attended and supported me at every luau. Auntie Marianne is the person I aspire to be like, always positive, loving and happy. Fly with the angels, Auntie. Marianne was a beautiful caring woman  with so many good abilities.   WHEN I WAS 18 we both ended up in Hawaii staying at the same house she was so fun.   Rest in peace your pain is over


I first met my Aunt Marianne when I was 17.  I was born in Denver but grew up in Indiana.  The first time I came to visit I ended up staying at Aunt Marianne and Uncle Genes house.  Aunt Marianne was always happy and always smiling.  She made me feel as if I was at home.  She made delicious meals and I ate a lot.  In the years that passed I came back to visit several times and always stayed with Aunt Marianne.  I miss you Aunt Marianne, you are a beautiful and special person.  May God give peace to your family.  With all our love, Ron and Vickie.

Marianne was a lovely person, full of laughter and kindness.  She was a loving Nana to her grandchildren and she will be missed.  As my daughter Marisa said,  "It is Heaven time now for Nana.  I wonder who she will follow as an angel?  I hope it is me."  I do too.

Marianne was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. I know she will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but she is in a beautiful place now. She is with God and watching over all of us until we all meet again. My prayers are with your family during this difficult time.

We shared many family gatherings with Marianne over the years.  She was always concerned about our lives, what what was going on, and how the kids were.  I will forever miss her infectious smile and especially...her kindness. 😔



Being close friends with Marianne’s son Josh, Adam and I had the honor of getting to know her over the last few years. Marianne was always so full of life and I always remember her smile and laugh as it was infectious. She will be missed by so many and feel grateful we knew her. Marianne raised a beautiful family and we feel so blessed to have Josh (and Jen) in our lives. Sending so much love to you all. 

Marianne was the sweetest person she always had a smile on her face or was laughing. She loved our family like her own and treated our kids wonderfully. She always cared for everyone. I will miss being able to always joke with her and laugh. She will be greatly missed! 

Gary and I have always enjoyed being part of Marianne's family. I will always remember when we would all get together .She would always make me feel welcome, and the laughter would begin. Kathy and I have fond memories of family gatherings where Marianne's warm sense of humor was always at the center of the party. Being her nephew I have many childhood memories, one in particular stands out. When Aunt Marianne was babysitting my sister Michelle and I, Michelle  wanted to have a tea party. Sitting down at a small table and pretending to prepare our meal Aunt Marianne came down stairs to check on us. She asked, " What are you doing"? As I was pretending to prepare food I told her," I am making Lettuce Delight!"  "Lettuce Delight"?  "What is that"?  she said. We all broke out into a hysterical laugh. For years and years we would laugh about the pretend "Lettuce Delight!" Her Loving nephew Gary

As the first grand child of Marianne, I know that I played a special role in her life. Having known me for a quarter of her life, she got to see me grow from a child into the man I am today. Although I still have much growing to do, I hope that she was proud of what I have been able to accomplish, as I owe her a lot for all the opportunities I have been given. For various reasons I wasn't able to spend as much time as I probably should have with her, however I know that the times I did get are very important to me. I remember her unyielding efforts to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable in her company. I remember her ability to remain positive and radiant despite whatever was troubling her. Most prominently though, was her unconditional love for her family. I can only hope that these traits she exemplified can be found in myself even in the slightest. I love you Nana, and I will always cherish the memories I have of you.

My Aunt Marianne was the best aunt ever not only my aunt but my best friend. She always took me to her Christmas parties from work. When I was about six years old I enetered a coloring contest from the Fred and Faye show on TV colored Smoky the Bear and won the contest. I was so excited but for some reason I couldn't go pick up my prize which was a stick horse so my Aunt Marianne went to pick it up for me. When your a kid those little things are important. I never forgot about it. She was the best I could tell her anything. We had secrets. Love her so much. I'm retired now and we had plans I guess God had other plans for her. Really going to miss my auntie.

I remember Marianne’s beautiful smile and I can hear her laugh.  Marianne loved her family with all of her heart and made her home inviting for all to gather together.  She was an amazing  grandmother, full of love and affection for her grandchildren.  I remember her natural grace and as a strong and vibrant woman.  I cherish the times I had with her and will never forget her.  I am so glad she was my son’s grandmother.  He is as I am, a better person for knowing her.   

I first met Marianne at a family get together. My son saw her and was so surprised because she was his bus driver and he was in middle school.  Josh and Jennifer were dating at that time. She was such a caring and friendly woman. I loved seeing her at all our family gatherings. I had some health issues in the last 5 yrs. She always would ask how I was doing when I saw her. She was an awesome grandmother. Her grandchildren were lucky to have her in their lives . Nana will be missed! Marianne you will be missed so much. RIP




Marianne a sister-in-law who was more of a real  sister.  She was  a very generous and sweet lady.  She was well respected and loved by so many.   I have a LOT of good memories to many to mention.  Marianne will be missed greatly.  RIP my sweetheart.  I love you!!
