Marshall Dennis Hedges

Marshall D Hedges was born on December 23, 1940 in Hedrick, Iowa and passed with his children and grandchildren by his side on April 12, 2026 in Denver, Colorado. He was a supportive brother, a proud father, a cherished grandfather, a loyal worker, and a fierce friend to many. Marshall lived his 85 years to their fullest. When he wasn’t spending time with his family, you could find him on the golf course, taking trips up to Blackhawk, camping & fishing, woodworking, patterning and repatterning his aluminum airplanes, and avidly cheering on his beloved Colorado sports teams.

Marshall graduated from Hedrick High School in Hedrick, Iowa in 1959 and moved to Denver, Colorado after high school to work with his father. Marshall spent most of his career working for “the phone company”. He met the love of his life, Jan, in 1963, and they were happily married on June 27, 1964. They welcomed daughter, Shelly, in 1966 and son, Mike, in 1968, both of whom Jan & Marshall claimed as their greatest accomplishments. In 1994, Marshall became a proud grandfather to Jordyn, closely followed by Justin in 1998. For the past 31 years, his greatest joy has been making memories with them and teaching life skills and lessons that will last well beyond his lifetime.

Marshall is preceded in death by his parents, Donald Hedges, of Denver, CO, and Helen Hedges Warner, of Des Moines, IA and his loving wife of 57 years, Janet Hedges, of Thornton, CO. Marshall is survived by his daughter Shelly Johnson (Bill) of Thornton, CO; son Mike Hedges (Kim) of Thornton, CO; two siblings, Janet Sichel of Jupiter, FL and Angie Kading of Des Moines, IA; granddaughter Jordyn Johnson of Thornton, CO; grandson Justin Johnson of Colorado Springs, CO along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Marshall’s memory be directed to the American Heart Association.
