Mercedes Garcia

She was born on September 15, 1928 to Jose P. and Soledad (Samaniego) Atencio. Mercedes married Julian Garcia on November 21, 1944 in Greeley, Colorado.

She is proceed in death by her parents, Jose and Soledad Atencio, her loving husband, Julian Garcia and 4 of her children: Lupe (Mary) Weston (2005), Gloria A. Garcia (2014), Della Rizo (2018), Robert J. Garcia (2012). Survivors include her children: Matilde (Tillie) Villarreal, Maria E. (Helen) Garcia, Stella Lucero, Margaret (Margie) Garcia, Julio (Rae Ann) Garcia, Philip M. (Kathi) Garcia, 14 Grandchildren, 21 Great-grandchildren, 3 Great Great-grandchildren.

A rosary service for Mercedes will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from 9:40 AM to 10:00 AM at Assumption Catholic Church, 2361 E 78th Ave, Denver, Colorado 80221. The Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow the rosary. A committal service will occur Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Olinger Highland Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, Colorado 80229.

Pallbearers are Stephen Garcia, Ernie Garcia, Dakota Garcia, Anthony Garcia, Issac Rizo and Christopher Rizo. Honorary Pallbearers are Gloria Molinar, Diane Rizo, Melissa Rizo and Renee Garcia.
