

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Michael Jon Hunter, aged 66, of Westminster, Colorado, on February 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 26, 1958, in Honolulu, Hawaii to Leslie Carrington Hunter and Frieda Mary Duffey.
Michael was known for his talents associated with Electrical and Generator Sciences as this was his passion following his training in the U.S. Navy Branch of the Armed Services where he received recognition for his work over his eight years of dedicated service to his country. He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed playing team softball, coaching youth in their endeavors, playing golf, and over many decades he was an avid bowler. He was awarded the U.S. Bowling Congress ring on three different occasions for achieving highest point score possible in his league.
Michael loved his family, was committed dearly to his wife, sons, daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He most recently began traveling with his wife and their two dogs pulling a travel trailer to various locations near his home and more broadly to Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, and Idaho. He was a loving man and a cherished friend to many. He most recently was employed by the Dairy Famers of America where he served as Fleet Maintenance Supervisor over the past two years and over 15 years at Cummins Rocky Mountain.
Michael is survived by his wife, JoAnn Hunter daughter Nikki (Jay) Kirk, son Jon Hunter, son Jacob (Kara) Hunter, son Justin Hunter , daughter Marisa Foley, daughter Adrienne (Juan) Paiz, daughter Victoria Romero, daughter Amanda Romero, son Anthony Romero, and 23 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother Kathryn Daniels, brother Fred Hunter, brother Allen Hunter, sister Stephanie Montoya, sister Tina Rolfson, and sister Gina Zwierzchowski, and step-mother Margie Hunter, stepsisters Marjorie Johantgen-McCollum and Amanda Johantgen as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Frieda M. Duffey 2008 and Leslie C. Hunter 2019.
A funeral service will be held in the summertime, date to be determined, at the Fort Logan National Cemetery with a reception to follow.
