Michael is survived by his wife Karla, grandsons Evan Holbrook and Jack Eby and sisters-in-law Kim (Mark)Onstott and Kellie (Mike) Berry. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kari (Eby) and parents Ruby and Herman Staley.
Michael was born in Soap Lake, Washington and moved to Commerce City, Colorado at a very young age. He attended Adams City High School where he played the trumpet in the school marching band and was active in theater.
As he got older, the cowboy in him emerged and his love for horses became apparent, spending all his free time at the stables riding his horse.
He married Karla in July of 1990, celebrating 34 years of marriage and just recently moved into a Active 55+ Community. He loved spending time with his grandsons, playing with the Larry the dog and was an avid reader.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Olinger Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery - Highland, 10201 Grant Street, Thornton, CO 80229 at 10:00am, Monday, April 14th. A reception will follow at the clubhouse at Mike and Karla’s, 8133 E. 29th Place, Denver, CO 80238. All are welcomed.
