Mitchell Robert Wimer

Mitchell Robert Wimer; beloved husband, father, son, brother and uncle, passed away peacefully April 6, 2022, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Mitch was born December 29, 1964 in Petoskey, Michigan to parents, Jim and Mary Wimer. He graduated high school in 1983 and soon after enlisted in the United States Air Force. Mitch worked his way up to Crew Chief on a C-130 plane. He traveled the world, lived in several different countries, and learned a lot about character, integrity and work ethic which he lived by and taught his sons.

Mitch moved to Colorado in 1990 and met his wife, LaNette, in Lakewood. They were married in 1991 at Heritage Square Chapel.

Mitch was a long time insurance agent with American Family Insurance where he was a mentor, inspiration and friend to many people, coworkers, employees and clients. He enjoyed many activities. The Colorado Dodge Challenger Club (where he had so many friends) was a passion of Mitch. He loved working on his cars and trucks. Other passions included 4-wheeling, camping with his boys, working on his beautiful home, yard, ponds & additions. Mitch was really a jack of all trades and could figure out anything!

Mitch dearly loved his two boys, Dillon and Nick. He was so proud of the men they have become. He was a friend to many; an honest man who could be counted on. Mitch had a heart of gold, and was always willing to help anyone. He inspired so many people and always had a positive attitude.

Mitch is survived by his wife, LaNette; sons, Dillon and Nick; mom, Mary; brother, Audie; niece, Audra; daughter-in-law, Symonne and granddaughter, Viviana. Also surviving are his 2 pups and best buddies, Floyd and Jax. Mitch was preceded in death by his father, Jim Wimer.
