Morgan Elizabeth Hamrick was a beloved daughter, sister, niece, cousin, friend, and coworker. She was born on May 11th, 1994, in Aurora, CO to Joseph and Charlene (Paine) Hamrick and passed away on October 22nd, 2024, in Denver, CO. She is survived by her mother and father, Charlene and Joseph Hamrick and her siblings Mac, Riley, and Lauren Hamrick.
Morgan was born and raised in the Denver Metro area, graduated from Cherokee Trail High School in 2012, then moved to Spokane, WA to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Peace Studies (Political Science) in 2015. She then moved back to Denver to complete her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree at the Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver, graduating in 2018. Throughout her time in law school, she served as a student attorney with the Veterans Advocacy Project in Denver, as a judicial legal extern with the Eighteenth Judicial District Court, and as a legal extern at Buckley Space Force Base with the Judge Advocate General’s corps. Morgan was a well accomplished attorney, earning the title of Rising Star (Super Lawyer) every year since 2021. She was pivotal in a case that is going to the Supreme Court in 2025. She was a member of Colorado Women’s Bar Association and Women in Law Organization and was a huge advocate and mentor for young women pursuing futures in the field of law. She was also a member of Colorado Military and Veteran Law Section, Colorado Family Law Section, and Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. She was well respected and loved throughout the Colorado Legal community and will be missed dearly by colleagues, opposing counsels, coworkers, clients and friends.
Morgan cherished friendships with people from all walks of her life and had a desire to make every person feel special and cared for. She was an active part of the sport’s community in Colorado, as an avid fan of all professional Colorado teams, the organizer and captain of her recreational volleyball and soccer teams, and as a singles and doubles tennis player. She was a frequent traveler, often squeezing in short weekend or day trips to see friends in local theater productions, celebrate milestones and birthdays, attend sporting events, or just to catch up with friends. She was adventurous and spontaneous and could make any trip feel special no matter the location or duration. Her most memorable trips were those taken to watch her favorite Premier League soccer team, Manchester United, to see her favorite Broadway productions in New York City, to celebrate her loved ones’ weddings, and to join her family on vacations at the beach.
The most important people in Morgan’s life were her family members. She loved being the planner for holidays, events, and celebrations, and made every family occasion special with her careful attention to detail. She was the keeper of countless family traditions that will continue to live on as part of her legacy. She made time to catch up with each of her parents’ and siblings’ lives, even with her busy lifestyle. She was an incredible daughter who had so much love and respect for her parents. She actively included them in her life while also making time to do the things that were important to them. She was the embodiment of a sister to each of her siblings. She was their biggest advocate, cheerleader and supporter. She went to every event no matter how small and made it a point to visit them no matter how far they were. She wanted every person in her life to experience her passions the way that she did, and her enthusiasm will continue to live on through those who loved her the most.
