January 30, 1943 – May 20, 2025
Nora Ann Zimmerman, born on January 30, 1943, in Gibbs, Missouri, to Clyde and Ruth (Scott) Rowlison, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025 at the age of 82.
Nora spent her early years in Missouri and later moved to Kearny, Nebraska where she attended High School and began building the foundations of a life filled with love, family, and creativity. In 1961, she met Gary Zimmerman, and they were united in marriage on May 5, 1962 (divorced in 1979). From their union came four children: LeRoy, Leanna, Kevin, and Melanie. In 1970, Kelli Smith was introduced to the family at just six weeks old and has remained a cherished and close friend ever since.
A devoted stay-at-home mother, Nora poured her heart into raising her children and creating a loving home. She had a quiet passion for the arts — particularly drawing and painting — and found great joy in expressing herself through her creative talents. She also loved the outdoors and made fond memories camping with her family and friends.
Nora was preceded in death by her beloved son Kevin Zimmerman, her parents, and siblings Wilma Fortney, Helen Annaratone, Ina Jahnke, Carol Jean Walker, Shirley Kay Harvey, Kathleen Oberg, and brothers Robert, Herman, Harold, and Dean Rowlison.
She is survived by her children: LeRoy Zimmerman; Leanna (Dan) Howell; and Melanie Zimmerman; her grandchildren: Amber, Christopher, Brian, Regina, Allen, Eric, Amara, and Austin; and 15 great-grandchildren. Nora is also survived by her sister LaVere Bail and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and friends who will remember her with love and affection.
Nora’s legacy of love, creativity, and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew her.
There will be a Celebration of Life held on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Olinger Highland Mortuary at 10201 Grant St., Thornton, CO 80229.
