It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Norma Jean Smith, our loving and devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on May 11, 2020. She passed away peacefully in her home of care in Lakewood, Colorado.
Norma’s life’s journey began in Ft. Worth, Texas, born on March 23, 1932 to Clarence and Opal Eudy. She married Bennie F. Taylor in 1948 and together they had three sons. They soon moved to Denver, Colorado, and Norma pursued a career path working for the U. S. Army at Fitzsimons Army Medical Hospital, which she retired in 1992. As Norma’s life journey continued in Denver, she met and married Raymond E. Smith in 1959, and together they had one son.
Norma lived a full life raising all four sons in Denver, Colorado, with her beloved parents support. She loved her family with all her heart, sacrificed much and worked hard, and was a very “dedicated mother to her sons” and no one could make her smile more passionately. Her sons’ knew how to make her smile and together a loving bond lasted a lifetime.
Norma is survived by her sister, Betty Staudt; her four sons and their wives, Larry and Connie Taylor, Rick and Judy Taylor, Doug and Tamee Taylor, and David Smith. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Keith Hicks, Misty Morris, Christy White, Melinda Derby, Amanda Stanley, Meagan Taylor, Brittany Levitt, Christopher Taylor and Jared Taylor as well as 12 wonderful great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, Clarence and Opal Eudy, and great-granddaughter, Faith Hope Stanley.
Norma had many roles in her lifeline as a daughter, sister, mother, aunt, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She loved all of her family dearly and will be dearly missed and be forever in our hearts.
