Patricia was born in Somerville Massachusetts. In 1956 at the age of 12 her family moved to Colorado. She graduated from Westminster High School in 1961 and went into banking at the Denver US National Bank.
Patricia and Harrell married in 1965 and welcomed their first son James in the summer of 1966. They purchased their home in Northglenn shortly thereafter where she resided the remainder of her life. She stopped working at the bank to be home with their son James. Two years later in the fall they were blessed with their second son Douglas.
She loved being a mom to her boys. She enriched their lives with the love of musicals, classic 1950’s music and spending quality time with her parents. They took multiple family trips including back east to see family, to Canada, Yellowstone, Mesa Verde, and Disneyland to name a few. She was known in the neighborhood for her chocolate chip cookies and the boys used them as “bargaining chips” to trade for something else in school. When Doug went into Junior High School, she returned to work at the bank until she retired.
During her retirement she took multiple trips back east to visit her extended family, would go to Blackhawk with her best friend Betty and meet up for lunch with her retiree friends. She was witty, funny, and your “phone a friend” with trivia questions. She loved reading and shared that love with her daughters-in-law. Patricia was tech savvy and loved playing word games on her tablet or reading a new book on her nook. I would say her greatest love was her grandchildren and great grandson.
All her grandchildren spent time with her, whether it was family gatherings, she was babysitting or playing chauffeur while their parents were at work. She was loving and fun to be around. She was known for her back porch swing, Christmas cookies, homemade hot fudge sauce, and the family fantasy football pool.
She passed away after a month and a half battling multiple medical complications. She is preceded in death by her parents Ivan and Rita Morel. She is survived by her husband Harrell, brother Rick and his wife Sharlie, her son James and his wife Carissa, her son Doug and his wife Tracy, her grandchildren Shaina and her husband Jeff, Derek, Brandon and his fiancé Claudia, Dominick and great grandson Emmett.
We’d like to give a special thank you to the wonderful nurses at North Suburban Medical Center during her time there.
