Pete, 

I am sad that I wasn’t here to say goodbye before you left to join our Heavenly Father. 
I am sorry that we were not able to have the  lunch date we had planned for today. 

Thank you for the all the fun times and great laughs that I shared with you, Lisa, Belle and Yvonne over the past 44 years- I will not forget them. 

I know that you wilI miss Lisa and you didn’t want to leave her but I am confident that you are filled with joy to be reunited with Belle and Yvonne. 

Thank you for sharing your family with me.

Dear Uncle Pete, 

I am going to miss you, our conversations, your hugs and our visits. 

You had the best laugh!  It was contagious and made everyone else around you laugh too. 

I really enjoyed hearing all your stories.  You’ve always been proud of our heritage and culture and I loved hearing all about your parents, your brothers and what is was like growing up in Colorado. 

You and Aunt Belle raised two amazing daughters. You devoted your life and love to Aunt Belle, Lisa and Yvonne.  

Thank you for sharing your life and love with us. I will forever remember your kindness, generosity, hospitality and wittiness. 

I know you are with your Honey now. 

I miss you Uncle Pete, I love you very much. 💕

Uncle Pete is as great as the deep blue sea. He will always be there, existing in our hearts, our thoughts, our memories. 

His conversations were neat, like going fishing. Every time you go fishing, you get something new.  His life was like waves. So perfect, so calm, so beautiful. He rode them wisely, he took his time, and it became something really nice. 

Every time we would visit him he would be so delighted that we were there. He loved everyone in the family.  He made me feel warm, he made me feel special. He spoke so clearly, he was so nice, he was a great man, like clear water. 

He is as perfect as the seasons are.  He was so sweet like a peach in the summer. 

He was a great man, we will all miss him and I love him a lot.

A life well lived is evident when the dearly departed himself, makes it public that he is ready to go heaven to be with his beloved wife, and his daughter who was taken from this earth way too early. A life well lived is  reflected when the dearly departed asks his only remaining daughter not to be sad about his passing, but instead to rejoice in his reunion with his loved ones.  Accepting his transition to heaven without resistance can be interpreted as bravery, and it can be interpreted as  steadfast faith. I see it as both. Heaven welcomed a very brave man true in his faith on July 1st, 2022. I choose to follow his advice, not to be sad about his passing, but instead to remember him, and to cherish the memories, the man, and what he meant to me.  Pedro continues to be the amazing man he has been on this earth, only now he is that same man in heaven. I will always remember his generosity.  All who knew him have learned through his example of love, and dedication to family, and hard work.  We have lost a great role model who never once considered failure as a possibility, and overcame obstacles like a trained athlete hurdling over them as they were placed in his path, with his heart on the finish line. The finish line of Family over everything else. The finish line of  hard work and dedication to that family.  If we are to compare this life on earth as a marathon, where we ourselves define what it takes to win,  Pedro has clearly come in first place, having lived a good life, exceeding even his own goals and objectives.
