In the tender embrace of eternal love, Phyllis Marie (Fippen) Ingram, our dearest wife, mother, and grandmother, peacefully passed away on January 16, 2024, in Thornton, Colorado. She was born on September 24, 1949, in Noblesville, Indiana, to the late George Clayton Fippen and Gracie Mae (Hiday) Fippen.
Phyllis blossomed amidst the town of Fortville, Indiana, attending school here throughout her years. The completion of her education occurred at Mt. Vernon High School in 1967. It was during her tender sophomore year of high school that fate introduced her to George, a connection that blossomed into a timeless love. Their vows were exchanged in the sacred sanctuary of McCordsville Methodist Church on April 27, 1968, marking the beginning of a lifelong union.
Following George's return from the Vietnam War, Phyllis and he embarked on a journey of love and expansion, with family becoming the very heartbeat of Phyllis' existence. She lovingly crafted a sanctuary at home, a haven where family and friends found solace and shared joy. Together, George and Phyllis wove the tapestry of their shared adventures, with travels that included a blissful Alaskan cruise on their 40th anniversary and the blessings of exploring the enchanting landscapes of Ireland and Italy. At home, Phyllis found joy in an array of crafts, sharing her passion generously with her children and grandchildren.
Phyllis leaves behind an enduring legacy of love, survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, George W. Ingram Jr. Her love extends to her cherished daughters, Connie and her husband Bill Leeper of Thornton, CO, and Pamela Van Wye of Greenwood, IN. A constellation of precious grandchildren, including Ben and his wife Emily, Ethan, Sam, Jak, Haley, Mayah, Noah, and Rebekah, carry forward the warmth of her love. Her journey is embraced by surviving siblings—Glenn and his wife Loretta Fippen, Judy (beloved wife of James), Roberta, affectionately known as Susie (devoted wife of Charles), and Kathy (beloved wife of John). The circle of her love encompasses beloved nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. Alongside her parents, Phyllis reunites with her siblings—George David and his wife Shirley, James, Charles, Delores, and John—in the ethereal embrace of eternity.
To honor and celebrate the love that defined Phyllis' life, a resplendent Celebration of Life open house is scheduled for Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Bay Horse Inn, at 1468 West Stones Crossing Rd., Greenwood, Indiana. In this gathering, we shall embrace the warmth of shared memories, laughter, and the enduring love of Phyllis Marie Ingram—a luminous soul whose love will forever illuminate our hearts.
