He is survived by his parents, Jim and Janet Nichols; his grandmother Lucille Garcia; his uncle Mike (Cheri Forsyth) Nichols; aunt Julie (Rich Trujillo) Abeyta and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother James Patrick Nichols; grandparents Rose Ryan and Don Nichols and Pat Garcia; great-grandparents James and Rose Ryan; Pantaleon and Ambrosia Martinez and his cousin Nathan Garcia.
