Shirley was born on May 7, 1928, to Gordon and Winona Warren in Nebraska City, NE. She had one younger sister, Georgia Farris.
Shirley had a passion for life and an adventurous spirit that took her worldwide, always interested in participating in the culture of the area she was. She was an avid reader and loved to knit. She enjoyed her day “outings” on “the little blue bus” from the Malley Rec Center, her involvement with the Red Hats Club, helping and serving the Lord and others through Littleton United Methodist Church activities and groups.
Shirley was devoted to her family, a true matriarch, a loyal friend, and a rock to many privileged to know her. She was always caring, comforting and ready to help anyone in need. She had an ever-loving heart, always wanting you to feel loved and special.
Among so many fond family memories, too many to mention, are camping trips, Air Force football games and tailgating, neighborhood Christmas parties, summer patio parties (she was always the perfect hostess), special one on one vacations and outings. She loved to expose the younger generations to cultural opportunities that would expand our horizons.
Shirley enjoyed discovering new restaurants to take family and friends. In her last years when living with her daughter and son-in-law she could no longer venture out to new places. She would offer to “cook” and we would pick something up to bring home. We often kidded that she always had all the ingredients that she needed!
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, George Gordon Warren and Winona Ray along with her sister Georgia Rae Farris.
