Toribio (Tony) Fajardo passed away Sunday, November 14, 2010 in his home in Frederick, Colorado after a long illness. Tony was born August 29, 1920 in Gibson, New Mexico to Floriano Fajardo and Margarete Jaramillo. He came to Colorado as a very young boy and grew up in the Gilcrest area. Tony married Marcella (Margie) Torres in 1942 in Denver, Colorado. They made their home in Frederick, Colorado. He worked in the coal mines from 1942 until 1945 when he served in the Army. He learned his trade as an automotive machinist and opened Tony's Automotive at 217 2nd Street in Frederick, Colorado. Tony is survived by his wife, Margie; daughters Carolyn Fajardo and Juanita DuFour (husband Rob) of Frederick, Colorado; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, & six great-great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters. A visitation will be held at St. Theresa'a Catholic Church, 5th and Walnut in Frederick at 6:00PM on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 and followed with a recitation of Rosary at 7:00PM. Funeral Mass is at 11:00AM Thursday, November 18, 2010. Interment will follow at Olinger Highland Cemetery, 104th and Grant St, in Thornton, CO. Arrangements under the direction of Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, Thornton, Colorado.
