Ami Jo Redfern

Ami was born on May 20, 1965 in Houston, Texas and was the daughter of Joseph and LaRue (Mc Amis) Williams. She grew up in Plano, Texas where she graduated from Plano Senior High School in 1983 and went on to earn her Associates Degree from the University of North Texas in Denton.

On September 21, 1985, Ami married the love of her life, Frank Redfern in Plano, Texas. Ami began her career in insurance joining Standard Insurance in Dallas,TX in 1984. In 1990, she and Frank transferred to the Portland home office and made their home in Tigard where her four children were born. She also became an active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Ami was a devoted wife and mother; compassionate, supportive and truly loving. She was an active sports mom going to every game and always cheering loudly from the stands. Ami was involved in everything that involved her children and also took a great interest in their friends. She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking and taking innumerable pictures of her family. She also enjoyed the company of friends and serving others through St. Anthony Catholic Church. Ami managed two teams who worked at the Community Café that served the homeless and was always looking for more ways to help. Ami and her love of others, her constant smile and her open heart will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ami is survived by her husband, Frank; her children, Maegen, Frankie, April and Jennifer; her parents, Joseph and LaRue Williams and her sisters, Connye Roberson, Terri Sakakeeny and Staci Gray along with numerous brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.

A visitation will be on Sunday, August 21, 2016 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Young’s Funeral Home in Tigard, Oregon. A funeral mass will be on Monday, August 22, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, in Tigard. Interment will be at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Young’s Funeral Home.
