Ardus Jan Stevens

Ardus (Ardi) Stevens, 77, of Tigard, Ore., passed away July 7, 2016. She was born in Klamath Falls, Ore., on the hottest day of the year, on July 20, 1938. Ardus was the only daughter of Arthur & Ester Williams. She was in the first graduating class of Lincoln High School 1956 and earned an associate’s business degree from Western Business School in Portland.

She was married to John (Jack) Engbrecht for over 25 years. She married Jack Stevens for 18 yrs, and has been the loving companion of Everett Smail.

Her last occupation was as manager & co-owner of the Trade Winds Motel in Rockaway, Ore. She was an excellent care provider to family & friends, and had a creative remodeling flair.

Her major interest included sports. She was on the LHS swim team and on several bowling leagues for over 50 years. She devoted her retired time to the American Legion Auxiliary Post 158. Ardi was an excellent cook and enjoyed having large family gatherings.

She is survived by Tina (Engbrecht) Murphy, John Engbrecht, Jill (Stevens) Olson, Mark Stevens. Grandsons: Jason Olson, Robert Miller, J. Ryan Engbrecht, Brendan Engbrecht, and Great Grandson: Kaleb Engbrecht. And companion Everett Smail.

The Celebration of Life will be at the Summerfield Club House, in Tigard on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 1pm – 4pm.
