Arlene was born and spent her early childhood in Fargo, North Dakota. Her family moved to Tacoma, Washington in Junior High School. Following High School, Arlene went to business school where she received an accounting degree. She and Richard married in 1946 at the First Lutheran Church in Tacoma. They raised Patricia and Tom in Tacoma.After the children were grown, Arlene worked with Richard at their company, Glass Sales and Service. They moved from Tacoma to Summerfield in 1984. Arlene was very active; she played golf twice a week and bridge twice a month. She was also past President of the Summerfield Ladies Golf Club. Arlene is survived by husband, Richard, son Thomas (Kathy) of Port Townsend, Washington, daughter, Patricia (Gayle) Harley of Eugene, Oregon, as well as grandson, Aaren Howard, granddaughter, Jocelyn (Neal) Huelings and great grandson, Henry Huelings. A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 2pm at the Summerfield Clubhouse.
