It is with great sadness that the family of Dr. Charles I. Wright, a uniquely wonderful man, announces his passing on Saturday, May 27th 2017. He was surrounded by his loving family. "Chuck" was unrelentingly kind, thoughtful, wise and extremely polite. Known by many as a "painless dentist", Chuck was easy to smile and at the ready to offer a thoughtful word or two in all situations. His low-key, observant style was, and is, an example to all. He was cherished by his patients, one once offering him an awkwardly appropriate compliment that he had committed "a great disservice to the community" by retiring after having practiced dentistry for over 48 years. Chuck, also known as Papa, Pop and Tata, is survived by his wife Rowena, the love of his life for over 66 years, and their four children Kathleen (Dean), Karen (Darren), Kelly (Dan), and Joe (Kristin), as well as 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. There will be a celebration of Chuck's life on Saturday, June 17, his 88th birthday, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm at the Sherwood Elks, 22770 SW Elwert Rd, Sherwood, OR, 97140. Words cannot express how much he will be missed. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Providence St. Vincent Heart & Vascular Institute.
Arrangements under the direction of Young's Funeral Home, Tigard, OR.
