Craig was born to Douglas Harold Fox and Eunice Brown Spaulding Fox on December 4, 1946. He graduated from Tigard High School in 1965, earned an Associate of Arts degree from Multnomah Junior College and began his career at The Oregonian Newspaper. He retired from the Advertising – Ad Service department in 2009 after 43 years.
Craig had a very quick wit, was fascinated by history and was the most loyal, giving, kind soul to all who knew and loved him. He was the family historian and he loved music and singing. He will surely be missed at several local karaoke venues in the Portland area, and will be remembered for one particularly stellar performance in Newport, Oregon about 20 years ago!
If you were lucky enough to befriend him, Craig was fierce in his loyalty and always there to listen – with comfort, humor or just an ear. He loved his family, and he loved his cats! Though small in stature, Craig Fox had a HUGE heart and was always ready to listen and make you know he cared – either with kind understanding, humor or just to listen.
He is survived by his two sisters, Holly Plackett (Mark) of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii and Laurie Fox Davis
of Granbury, Texas; nieces, Michelle Plackett and Lori Kay Barnett (Stephen); nephews, Jeffrey Plackett and Jeff Davis (Pam); cousins, Virginia Barribal (Jim), Leland Dart, James Spaulding (Juliet), Valerie Bartel, Loren Fox, and Jamie Spaulding; several great nieces and nephews; and very special friends, Tom Groat (Janet), Julie Leroy, Kathleen Clarke, and John Brenne (dec.).
