Danny Alvis passed away on January 25, 2026, peacefully at home surrounded by family. Danny was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend who loved his friends and family with all of his heart. Danny enjoyed living a simple life and had a wonderful, sarcastic sense of humor. He loved God, his country and his family and had a passion for music.
Danny left home at the age of 18 seeking adventure and a better life. He joined the Navy and served in the Vietnam War where he was stationed in the Pacific on an aircraft carrier. While there, he expressed his love of music as a Disc Jockey. During his time on the carrier, he enjoyed looking up at the stars at night, and especially enjoyed the time when his aircraft carrier picked up 2 astronauts upon their return from space.
Soon after, Mary and Danny met and they became the loves of each other’s lives. They met working together at the country club and worked together on and off for the past 40 years. They were married on September 15, 1987 and enjoyed 38 years of blissful marriage. For the past 20 years, they enjoyed working together at CUI. They spent every day together, taking care of each other. Danny and Mary enjoyed hanging out at home, playing computer games, and listening to Danny’s homemade mixes. They also enjoyed going to the antique stores and buying records.
Danny loved spending time with his daughter, Julia, grandchildren Joshua and Christian and his wife, Marissa. He enjoyed playing video games with them, watching movies, and making home movies. He loved spending Christmas with them and dressing up as Santa when they were little. He was so proud of all of their accomplishments.
Danny also enjoyed spending time with his friends and his CUI Family. He enjoyed attending the Blues Festival every year with his friend John Galloway and always spoke of the jokes they would send back and forth to each other. Danny loved his entire CUI family. He spoke fondly of his co-workers and enjoyed watching their children and grandchildren grow up. He and Mary enjoyed attending all of their holiday parties and volunteering together. He also enjoyed when his friends would slip him his favorite Maple Bars.
Danny was an incredibly loving and kind human being with a kind heart and gentle soul. He touched every person that he met along his journey and brought joy and laughter to so many people over the years. He will be missed dearly.
