Dara Lee Ely

Dara was devoted to her bird Rosie the Cockatoo. Rosie was as much a part of Dara as any of our children are to us. Rosie is currently in the care of her longtime sitter and friend, Marilu Anderson. It is likely that this will be Rosie’s permanent new home. Well cared for Parrots live a very long time. At 17, Rosie is likely to live another 30 years or more, Dara would want Rosie to receive the same level of care that Dara gave her. Marilu shares Dara’s passion for and has the expertise to care for these complex and demanding companions as Dara herself did. It would be Dara’s passionate plea that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Marilu Anderson for the care of Rosie, and to help Marilu in her work caring for abandoned and needy parrots here in the Portland area. To grant her this wish, A donation account accessible to Marilu has been created.
