On February 25, 2022 Darryl Parnell went home to God after a courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Darryl Glenn Parnell was born on September 8, 1965 in Bakersfield, CA. He was the fifth child of Mack and JoAnn Parnell. Darryl's early years were spent in California until the family moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon in 1971. Darryl grew up with his seven siblings often going to church five days a week as well as playing a lot of street ball including basketball, football, kickball, soccer and baseball. Darryl attended Altamont Elementary, Brixner Jr. High and Mazama High School and started working at the age of thirteen.
An extremely dedicated and hard worker, Darryl spent the majority of his adult years working in the bulk mailing business in the Portland, Oregon area where he was always loved by coworkers and made friends wherever he went.
Darryl loved supporting his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews in all their various sports and activities whenever he could. Darryl loved fishing and was also known to play a mean set of drums. However, his biggest passion was sports and football was his favorite! A diehard Cowboy fan, it would be rare for him to ever miss watching a game and he knew every stat or record the team has ever held. Darryl also spent several years coaching in the Southridge Youth Football League in Beaverton, Oregon where he touched and motivated the lives of many young players.
