

Frank H. de Hoog of Lake Oswego, passed away August 19th, 2012 surrounded by the comfort of his family at Tualatin Meridian Park Hospital. He was born December 28th, 1941 in Surabaya, Indonesia. He immigrated to Portland, Oregon from the Netherlands in 1962 and later married his wife in 1968.
Frank is survived by his wife Louise, two sons Marcel (of Tualatin) and Cliff (of Milwaukie), grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. He also has three brothers in the Netherlands, Jan, Jacob, and William, as well as his brother-in-laws George and Ulrich and sister-in-laws Josephine and Nelly.
His goal was to become an Engineer, taking classes at Portland Community College, and later began a career in the metal fabrication industry. Frank worked as a welder for Hanna Carwash Systems in Milwaukie, Oregon. Prior to working for Hanna he and his brother Leo were the first two employees for Gaylord Industries now located in Tualatin.
Frank’s interests included watching and coaching soccer, gardening, Portland Trailblazer basketball, and spending time with his family. He adored his pets, both dogs and cats, and enjoyed watching birds and squirrels meandering throughout his garden.
A connoisseur of any type of food, he especially looked forward to monthly potlucks with close friends.
The closest of friends are the family of Gary and Sari McDonald where they met in 1976 at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Frank and Louise later became the godparents of their youngest son Michael.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be August 24, 2012, at 7:30 pm, memorial Mass will be August 25, 2012, at 11:30 am both at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 650 A Ave., Lake Oswego, Oregon 97034.
Reception to follow Mass in the Church Hall.
