
Gary Leon Fox, 78, of Forest Grove passed away on November 9, 2013. A Memorial Service will be held at Tigard Christian Church Monday, November 18, 2013 at 2:00 PM. Graveside on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Crescent Grove Cemetery.
Gary was the second of nine children born to Fay and Mildred (Justman) Fox in Yelm, Washington. He graduated from Yelm High School in 1957, where he participated in football. Gary was also a member of the Volunteer Fire Department in Yelm in his late teens. He married Claudia Brumely and had three children. In 1977 Gary married Jeannine Routh after meeting during a ‘Parents without Partners’ event. Jeannine had two children and the family joined together and enjoyed many years together. They would sometimes travel back to Washington for family picnics.
Mr. Fox was a collector of stamps, western books (especially Louis L’Amour), western art and enjoyed reading westerns and religious material. In his younger years he enjoyed to draw and paint. He served in the National Guard honorably for 36 years and was an active member in the Tigard Christian Church where he was involved with church plays.
Gary will be dearly missed by his wife; Jeannine Fox, siblings; Duane Fox, Fay Fox, Jr., Kim Fox, Orrin Fox, Priscilla DeRouse, Pamela Hawthorn, Danielle Fox, children; Gary Fox, Jr., Jerry Fox, Robin Paulson, step children; Lea Rutledge, Teresa Vancil, 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren plus one on the way.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother; Larry Fox.
