James lived a full life; he served in the Army and during that time met a lovely young nurse by the name of Elizabeth. He and Elizabeth married and started their family. James was a proud father, and supported everything that his children were involved in! He would always volunteer to time or officiate at a swim meet or coach a soccer team (despite knowing nothing about soccer!). While he did not know much about soccer, he loved to golf and played well into his retirement years. All of his children enjoyed playing with him. He also taught his daughter, Monica, how to play tennis. James also loved to travel, and he collected matchbooks from his travels. He took his family camping all over the Western United States and often visited a cabin in LaPine. He also enjoyed rockhounding and had a collection of rocks from all over Oregon, many of which he polished.
James will be remembered for his devotion to his family and always supporting them in anyway he could, through good times and bad.
