Jim completed college with a Masters Degree in Business and went on to hold many jobs throughout his life.
Jim’s final and favorite career was as a State Farm agent beginning in 1980 in Eugene Oregon. His successful and great career as an agent led to a position in management, first in Eugene then moving to Portland Oregon in 1989. He continued as an agency manager in the Portland area until 1995 when he returned to agency in Tigard.
Jim very much enjoyed the position of agent, advisor and friend to his many policyholders.
Jim’s passion was his family. He could be found riding on his Kubota with one of the granddaughters right on his lap.
His home was his castle and he and Debbie spent many hours getting things just right.
Another big passion for Jim was biking. His routine was 25 to 50 miles every other day in good weather. He and son Jon participated in the Seattle To Portland Bike trip a total of 13 times. Only the birth of his first granddaughter could keep him from participating in the ride.
Last but not least was his sailing. What a thrill he had in sailing their 45’ Hunter sail boat. He would say “Nothing like the wind in my hair and burying the rail”. The boat was lovingly named “Tessitore Di Sogni.” Italian for “Weaver of Dreams.”
