

Jan grew up in Garden Home and attended Garden Home School, Whitford Middle School, and finished his education at Beaverton High School.
After working in briefly Nevada Jan returned to Portland and bought a home on Borthwick Avenue. Jan worked as a food service supervisor at OHSU until he retired.
After the deaths of his parents Jan moved to the home he grew up in on 78th Avenue.
Jan loved Dachshunds and always had them as pets. He also took in a Yorkie that friends of his were unable to keep. Jan was the best pet parent a dog could ever have.
Jan enjoyed his retirement years promoting history preservation with the Garden Home History Project group which he was a member of, and later included his husband.
Jan also enjoyed travel, his trips include driving across USA to Chambersburg Pennsylvania to visit his uncle stopping to pick up his friend Kevin in Missouri to travel with him.
In 2018 Kevin moved in with Jan and they both became happily married November 11th 2022. They both enjoyed annual travel trips visiting national parks and roadside attractions from coast to coast.
Jan Fredrickson is survived by his husband Kevin Mistler of the home, and also his cousins Cheryl Van Beveren and her brother Kent Fredrickson
