

Jean was a longtime Oregon resident, moving here at a young age and graduated from Franklin High School. Through many common acquaintances, Jean was destined to meet the love of her life, Gildo Martini. The two were married on June 10, 1951, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They shared 64 loving years together before Gil passed in December 2015. They are now together once more.
Jean and Gil shared many happy years watching their family grow. Jean’s family is her proudest accomplishment with 6 children, 16 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. She was an avid sports enthusiast and excelled at tennis, golf, and swimming. She was known for her whipping serves and backhands; she knew how to rule the court, living up to her childhood nickname, Queenie. For many years, she played tennis at Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation Center and with the Charbonneau Super Seniors Tennis Club. Jean was a painter and social butterfly; she enjoyed many evenings’ with her group of gals, the “Sorority”. She loved family vacations and gatherings, whether at their beach houses along the Oregon Coast or in Sun River, these were treasured times. Jean could also be found winning at the black jack tables and slot machines of Reno or Spirit Mountain.
Gil started his own company, Enviro-Pak, a division of Tech Mark in 1972. Jean worked alongside him, as did all of their children and many grandchildren. Jean and Gil leave behind a legacy of a thriving business and a devoted family.
Jean is loved and will be greatly missed by her beloved daughters, Terri Calcagno and Kathy Martini; sons, Mike (Sherri), Steve, Pete (Susan), and Patrick; 16 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
