
John (Jay) Marldean Wilcox Jr., aged 77, passed away on May 22, 2024, in Tualatin, Oregon. He was born in Minneapolis, MN on November 30, 1946 Jay, known for his outgoing personality and love of storytelling, found a friend in everyone he met.
A proud Army veteran who served in the Army from 1968-1971 with a tour in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. Jay was deeply dedicated to his community. After his time in the Army, Jay spent his career in the Postal Service, connecting with people from all walks of life. He was an active member of Tualatin Presbyterian Church. In retirement, Jay continued to serve his community as an active volunteer for multiple organizations, the Tualatin Police Department, golf organizations, VFW and Honor Flight, a cause close to his heart.
Jay was an adventurer at heart, always eager to try new experiences. Whether it was indoor skydiving, planting grapes in a vineyard, visiting Peru, participating in bicycle races, or being a “gator” for horse carriage races, Jay embraced life with an open mind and a joyful spirit. He also enjoyed golfing, reading, camping, and a competitive game of Contract Rummy. No matter where he was, Jay always had a joke or a story to share, treating everyone as a friend.
Jay is survived by his spouse, Nancy whom he wed in 1969, his daughter Jenny and her husband Jason, his grandchildren Bodhi and Ryder, and his sister Peg. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Jean Wilcox, his daughter Jocelyn, and his sister Carolyn.

John Marldean Wilcox Jr. will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of kindness, service, and friendship will forever be remembered.
